This piece is called "The Tigerlily". The tigerlily is a flower that is symbolic of riches, and by making it part of the lady's clothing, I'm trying to show that she's wearing her riches for everyone to see. Her face is sad because she's unhappy with her life, even with the rich fabrics she wears and the pearls around her neck. The green in the background represents both money and jealousy, as one brings the other. It looks like fractured glass because one can't be whole when they're jealous. I used watercolor for this piece, and used emphasis and shapes to highlight the girl.
